The Wireless Local Loop, or WLL, is defined as a radio network capable of accessing the public switched telephone network.

Telecommunication is achieved through a radio link between a fixed telephone and a near-by located base station.
The combination of several base stations, where each station handles several phones, is called the Local Loop. All communications are transferred to the public network using point to point microwave links.
